Your favorite book

My love for reading makes this nearly impossible to answer, however, I will choose one of the books that literally changed my life. For this challenge I choose Inspiration by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer. That book means so much to me that words simply canot express.

I was lead to that book a couple of years ago when I was in Target. My life was crashing down around me – I was living in Atlanta, struggling financially, working at a job that I hated (actually, I loved the job but the management made it a miserable place to be), in a relationship that was emotionally draining and nearly made me call it quits on men, love and relationships in general.

I was walking around in Target, just looking at the pretty things that inspire me – clothes, jewelry, stationary and home decor. I was about to leave but something pulled me to stay so I walked around a bit more.

Everytime I wanted to go a certain way I was interuppted or stalled – someone or something blocking the aisle. I eventually ended up in the book section; which was not my usual browsing area in there as there was a major chain bookstore in the same area that I usually spent hours in. So somehow I ended up there and I was not even really looking at the books when all of a sudden this book was right in front of me calling me to buy it. I ignored the feeling for a second but then snatched it up and the rest is history… or should I say inspirational?

This book renewed my faith and hope in everything but most of all life – MY life. I realized that I could keep going and there was no reason to give up. This book lifted me out of the muck my mind had produced by focusing so much on the things that were going wrong and ignoring what was going right or good.

So that is my choice for favorite book.
