New week! New discoveries! Every Friday I do a recap of my week. What went wrong and what went right (as well as everything in between).
The week started off well. I got out of the house and went to visit the new Target Store as well as eat some yummy food at California Pizza Kitchen. It was fun but it took up a lot of my energy. I mentioned being sick in a post last week and it really slowed me down in all aspects of my life. I spent this week doing a lot of catching up personally and professionally. It was pretty difficult for me to deal with because I was so positive and motivated right before I got sick. I am am happy that I am getting better (slowly) and regaining my energy.
Work Life
One thing that I wrote at the beginning of this month was how I have been Job Hunting Like A Boss and that includes networking and updating my online profiles at job websites. In that post I also that I had updated my once sad and depressing LinkedIn profile. It now looks much better and I actually enjoying using it. I have had so many discussions with other people online about the importance of keeping it updated. I check it a couple of times a week and plan on updating in monthly/as needed. I read 5 Ways to Give Your LinkedIn Profile the Tune Up It Needs and it reminded me that there are more things I can do to update mine. For those of you still questioning LinkedIn, this post asks Should You Join LinkedIn and makes some good points.
I love discovering new websites and products that take things to the next level so when I found Strikingly I was so excited to find that I could create a beautiful online resume in 10 seconds. Since I had already updated my LinkedIn account recently all I had to do was log in to that account and it transferred all of my information. It was so simple and there are options to edit and share it. Now when someone asks for your resume you can share the link with them and you have a beautiful and organized online resume to present to them. Check it out below.
Blogging World
I did some banner swaps with some lovely bloggers. Make sure you visit Ivy at Ivy Over Joyed and Lucie over at Hummingbird And The Rose. If you would like to purchase ad space or do a banner swap head over here
While I was blog hopping the other day I discovered a blogger that I had lost track of a long time ago. Her name is Jenn and she has a lovely blog so make sure you go and visit her when you have a moment.
I have been working a lot behind-the-scenes lately in regards to blogging so please excuse the lack of posts. I promise you I have a lot of posts coming up so make sure you check back, follow me on Twitter or subscribe so that you can be notified when something new is published. Even though I haven’t posted much here, I was able to publish a post on my other blog about Making Your Dreams Come True. I feel like things are really going in the right direction for me and if I keep doing what I’m doing my dream of creating the perfect career for myself will come true.
