Back in March 2015 I wrote a post about some of my blogging goals. A lot of things in my personal life have changed and some of the changes did result in me having to put my blogging goals to the side.
Now that I am working a part time job and going to school part time I have a little bit more of a set schedule, however, I still have more free time than I used to working at my old job. How I spend my time, however, is another thing.
Starting a new job after job hunting like a boss and going back to school; forced me to attempt to set a schedule for myself since I previously didn’t have much to worry about while I was not working. This slowed down my blogging significantly.
I decided since it has been a little over six months and I am trying to spend more time blogging and working on my blogging goals, I thought it would be a nice time to post an update about how I am doing with my blogging goals.
Goal 1: Post More Frequently
Even though I was still working on posts and editing drafts, I did not reach my goal of posting 2-5 times a week – I was lucky to have even posted 2 posts a month. I am working on scheduling (see Goal 2) in blogging time so that I can get to that goal and I have some blog series that I am working on as well to help me in that process. I look forward to sharing what I am working on in the near future.
Goal 2: Organize/schedule my blogging tasks
I have been more organized and been spending more time working on drafts than I have in the past so I seem to have found a system that works in favor of the behind-the-scenes. I am working on a post about how I do that.
Goal 3: Organize my blog
I have cleaned up my blog a bit but I am still working on a new layout and trying to clear out the “clutter” from it so it is a bit more easy on the eyes.
Goal 4: Networking/Increase readership
Since I didn’t have any new content to read I have mostly been sharing my older more popular posts. I have been getting some nice feedback and new readers that were referred mostly from Twitter. I think once I post more I will get more readers. Wish me luck!
I will continue to work on the above goals and will check back in 6 months with how I am doing.

That’s great that you are setting blog goals! I wish you blessings on achieving your goals. I haven’t formally written about it, but I definitely want more subscribers to my blog, so I trying to market more.
Thank you! I think setting goals is important because it helps you to see where you are going and how far you have come. I am trying get more subscribers as well so I hope improving my blog and writing more will help that in the long run. I wish you the best of luck. xo
Rose, you have motivated me to start working on my goals. We all have set backs but what matters is we get back up and keep going, right? Good luck and thank you!
YAY! DO IT π We all gotta start somewhere. Thank you!!
Great post on your goals. That is so awesome to have these things put together!
Thank you Keelie π I think seeing it in writing makes it more important (to me) and I am more likely to work towards these goals.
Rose, you are doing the most important thing of all-setting goals! Twitter is a great way to increase readership of your blog…I have just started using Twitter and have really seen the possibilities. I was given a bit of advice when I first started that I have found most valuable- just write and hit publish. Getting into the habit of writing is the precursor to a great blog!
Thank you for your kind words. I really love Twitter – it is a great place to connect and meet new people. I agree – getting in the habit of writing is very important. I schedule time in and usually end up writing outside of that time as well. I am doing much better lately π Thank you for stopping by.
Hmmm… my blog goals… well, so far, to get readers that aren’t related to me! (Thanks Dad!) I’ve gotten plenty of “hits” but not many followers. I’m brand new in the blogging world, so I’m still trying to figure out how you make people want to stick around.
LOL @ “Thanks Dad.” Just keep at it. Keep blogging and sharing your posts. Interact with other bloggers. Join Twitter chats and Facebook groups. Make sure your blog link is in your profiles (like Twitter and Facebook.) Share other people’s content and they tend to do the same. Good luck! You can do it π
I am new to this blog concept for myself anyway. I find it quite incredible that there are so many bloggers with different niches. I hope to continue bringing quality content. I do it for myself though. To showcase my passion. It creates a balance in my humdrum life.
Thank you so much for stopping in and commenting. There are a lot of bloggers out there and most blogs do not last for very long but being consistent and bringing quality content will keep you up and running for years to come! Have a wonderful week!
